Squirrels

Lauren is watching for squirrels in this video which she has now renamed 'Foofa' from Yo Gabba Gabba. All the talk about Foofa made her think about Brobee (another Gabba character) which set her off into a spin of a few of her favorite things (Jaxson, Lola, Heather, Horsey, and Apple)...ENJOY!

A few more of her favorite things...she has quite the vocabulary! Lately she has been having some 'quiet time' in her room. She will walk in there, close the door, and play for a few more minutes before knocking to come out. I opened the door with the video camera after she had been in there for awhile. She always tells us everything that she did when we open the door and that is what she is doing here when talking about Violet and the chair.

What Happened?

Something happened to Lauren's doll...it is a mystery but she doesn't like it! Here is a better glimpse of Lauren's active personality; always on the go!

Blast from the Past...

I finally uploaded videos from my camera and found this gem from back in May! My dad had her hooked on Irish music. And we thought she was a little firecracker here...we had no idea what was in store for us!

Crawling...

This was pretty difficult to get on camera...but she is crawling really good now. She is able to crawl to her toys (and things that she shouldn't be getting into) but hasn't quite realized that she can follow me if I go to the other room. The baby-proofing has begun!!!

Happy Birthday Kyle!

Today is Kyle's 26th Birthday!! This birthday is definitely different than last year (click on that to read my post from last year) as we spent the day doing silly things and shopping. This year we have another addition to our family to share our holiday traditions with and another stocking (though I have yet to get one, opps!) At least this year his birthday isn't on the shortest day of the year!!

Making and Wearing A Baby Wrap

I know several people were wondering how I made my own wrap and some different techniques. If you want to know how to make it: click here (instructions on my other blog)

Here are just a few different things that you can do with your wrap. I will post some different styles later as well but wanted to introduce a few basic introductory front carries. Smaller babies will less head control generally like the front/facing inward carries the best while older babies with greater head control can face out or be placed on the hip or back. Wraps are usually ideal for babies in the 5-35lb. weight range.

Disclaimer....you can hear Lauren talking away in the background. I swear she knows what the wrap is and looks like because she always gets really excited when I start wrapping it around me!

I updated the video montage that I made when we first announced our pregnancy. I don't know what the deal is but I have been having a hard time getting closure on my pregnancy. I told Kyle the other night that I don't even remember what the kicks felt like anymore and really miss carrying a big belly around. I NEVER thought that I would miss being pregnant but I really do and ask Kyle all the time when we can start thinking about having another one. Don't get me wrong, I love having Lauren here with us!!

Our Little Chatterbox

Here is a little video of Lauren talking. She is such a little chatterbox but for some reason whenever I pull the video camera out she stops. She has a few sounds that are recurrent: a squeal, one that sounds like a monkey laughing, and 'gooo'. She makes one little cry in this video and then squeals and makes a laughing noise around the 36 second point! Enjoy!!!

Belly Dancing

Here is a little clip of the baby dancing around. I am not moving the camera at all so in the beginning when you see it shake that is the baby. The head/butt appears to be on my left side now and the feet the right so that is the large bulge that you see on the left sometimes. About halfway into the video you can see some good movement. Once I zoom in a little on the left, it is pretty much over so you don't have to watch after that.

and...

We have bats living on our porch! It is disgusting and they leave their feces behind!
